Web Directory – Can they make money for you?
Posted by: | CommentsNow days, every webmaster has at least one web directory, but can they make money for you?  It is nice business model if you do it right. Most directories are low quality meaning not much contents, low backlinks, or low quality web sites, there are high quality web directories just doing fine with earnings and expanding their business. I have two general, directlinks.us and lucky7.net and two niches directory I just starting.  They are not making much money but building quality. I found two great artcles today, one is general how to create a successful web directory and one is interview with BOTW ceo.
Make $1 000 000 with paid directory a year.
The Secrets of BOTW’s Success Revealed
John Scott, owner of v7n.com, use to make $50k per month with his directory and still doing pretty good with his directories. So there is still market to make money, but directory requires good amount of initial investments and time to build good quality.
Banner Campaign – 480×60
Posted by: | CommentsI bought a 480×60 banner spot for my niche(aviation) social networking site at very popular airline image site for $75 per day. I just did for one day to test and I reserver one day for 120×600 banner which cost me $150 per day(part II will be on this).
Here is my stat:
Ran on Friday, Got 599 clicks according to their stat. My Site gain 20 new members and $5 from Adsense. They had Adbrite and I tried adbrite spot which cost me $175 per week and it was kinda waste.
For Niche, banner campaign can be very good if you can find similar site to advertise instead of contextual ad.
WickedFire got an offer of $16mil.
Posted by: | CommentsFrom wickedfire.com
I just got off of the phone with a pretty well known person who runs a company that snaps up big properties and he offered me $16 million for WickedFire. The whole offer was $16M over 3 years or $11 million at one shot. Needless to say, I turned him down without even thinking twice about it.
Jon rejected this offer. Why? Maybe he has big plans for his site but with $16 million, I think he can do more with that money in my opinion.
Current His forum stats are Threads: 6,957, Posts: 107,304, Members: 3,824 and I just wondering where this investor came up with that $16mil for the forum? What he think this forum is worth that much?  What he sees that I can not see at this moment from this forum? WickedFire has great potential to be big but $16mil at this point, I hope Jon take the offer..

Thanks to Elite Retreat that they coming to eastern side. They planned to have one at Orlando, FL in sometime in May, 2007. I hope I could save some money($5000) so I could attend to the event and have annual family vacation in Disney after that. Also, it will be nice if they could post some before & after results from former attendees.Â
Trying Ringtone Affiliate Again.
Posted by: | CommentsI was working on ringtone affiliation again using Overture, MSN adcenter, and Adwords this weekend. I bought Keyword Elite to test out with my ringtone site. MSN & Overture seems don;t like keyword with Brand Name on such as Verizone. Last 3 days, my ROI is close 3:1, but not enough clicks so earning is very small. Spent like $50 and got close to $135. I will continue to working on keywords and more post will coming in.

New Overture(YMS) Interface is good but confused me..
Posted by: | CommentsI think new overture interface & system is much better than before, such as instant keyword approval, better interface, and faster then before. However, one thing confused me and I lost almost $100 yesterday.

It shows estimate avg. cost per click, but it came out almost $2.00 per click from content match..
Also, Yahoo implements site quality index but I am not sure how it used. Forget Content Match now on.
